George Edward "Ted" Heath (30 March 1902 – 18 November 1969) was an English musician and big band leader. Heath led what is widely considered Britain's greatest post-war big band recording more than 100 albums which sold over 20 million copies. The most successful band in Britain during the 1950s, it remained in existence as a ghost band long after Heath died, surviving in such a form until 2000.

Jazz played in a concert hall or a club is for many the pinnacle of the art form and here are the 50 best live jazz albums of all time. Concert – The MJQ (1974) Gerry Mulligan Live at the Village Vanguard (1960) Oscar Peterson at the Concertgebouw (1957) Groovin’ at Smalls’ Paradise – Jimmy Smith (1957) Weather Report Live in Tokyo (1972) Mary Lou Williams at Rick’s Cafe Americain (1979) Bird & Pres at JATP (1946) Bill Laurence Live at Union Chapel (2016) Sylva – Snarky Puppy (2015) John Coltrane & Thelonious Monk live at Carnegie. Ted Heath, Jack Parnell, Ronnie Scott, just to name three. It is always about the . who did have great bands and artists, but were not the be all and end all of jazz. But then even today the . deos not know too much about what happens outside their own country in anyway, so nothing has changed really.

This album also marked a departure from the traditional bebop style with songs that are simple melodies over simple chord progressions leaving room for the deep improvisational exploration. What a treat it is to listen to time and time again. A Love Supreme - John Coltrane This album completely revolutionized the jazz scene in 1965 and even today its influence can be found in many musical styles. So at the 3rd annual Newport Jazz Festival, Ellington attempted to please the crowd with some new suites and arrangements, but the crowd was still sedated.
