Next Plane to London by The Rose Garden.

The Rose Garden was an American folk rock band from Los Angeles, California, which was active in 1967 and 1968. They are most remember for their hit single, "Next Plane to London". The band formed from a band known as The Blokes which was founded in 1964 and would cover much of The Byrds work in its later years. By 1967, the group's full lineup was complete and they became known as The Rose Garden. The album includes their Top 20 hit "Next Plane to London". The band was heavily influenced by The Byrds and even has two Gene Clark compositions, "Till Today" and "Long Time", included on the album. They would emulate The Byrds style through vocal harmony and 12-string guitar blending. The group also recorded "Rider", which was first recorded by The Byrds in 1966, but not yet released. The only original composition was "Flower Town".

Rose Garden is a multi-million selling, RIAA Platinum-certified studio album by country singer Lynn Anderson. It was released in late 1970 as the title song was climbing country and pop music charts around the world. The single went on to top the Country charts, where it stayed at the number 1 position for five weeks. It reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart in early 1971 and hit number 1 in both Cash Box and Record World.

Next Plane to London" is the debut single by the American folk rock band, The Rose Garden. The single, released by Atco Records, became the band's only Top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 when it peaked at number 17. It would later reappear on the group's 1968 studio album, The Rose Garden  . The Blokes recorded their own material, but became known for promoting a single by professional musicians who went under the name, The Giant Sunflower. The single, "February Sunshine", became a Los Angeles hit, and the Blokes became known as The Giant Sunflower for a couple of weeks to perform the song in their live act. The Blokes recorded demos with Charlie Greene, and Brian Stone when it was announced they needed a new name.

The lack of Rose Garden compact discs could be down to how they had only one hit single: "Next Plane to London," which climbed to number 17 in the fall of 1967. A Trip Through the Garden fills out the story, underscoring how the Rose Garden were very much a band of their time and place, quite proudly displaying their debt to the Byrds. All of their eponymous debut and the assorted ephemera on the disc recall the sweeter, folkier elements of the Byrds, but the connection is deepest with Gene Clark.
