Tommy is a 1972 album, based on the original 1969 album by The Who, featuring the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Measham, of arrangements by Wil Malone. The project was conceived by Lou Reizner, initially with Rod Stewart singing Roger Daltrey's main role. As Pete Townshend and Daltrey became more involved, Stewart's role was reduced to singing "Pinball Wizard".

Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra. The first of two volumes (both double LPs) in a 1971 series from RCA Victor, This Is Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra, Vol. 1 provided a response to the many big-band recreations making the rounds during the late '60s and early '70s. The album presented proof of the Dorsey band's superiority simply by reissuing 20 of Dorsey's most famous recordings - "I'm Gettin' Sentimental Over You," "Boogie Woogie," "Stardust," "Song of India," "Opus One," and "Music, Maestro, Please" among them

After releasing an album on then-fledgling label Warp Records in 1991, Nightmares on Wax founder George Evelyn stepped away to run a dance club in Leeds, DJ, and start his own record label. The context is important because unlike many of the other notable trip-hop releases, Smokers Delight has a distinct DJ feel to it, with an aesthetic that relies on multiple melodies being seamlessly layered on top of each other throughout the course of a song. In 2001, under his Nathanial Meriweather moniker, Dan The Automator produced a trip-hop album featuring Jennifer Charles (of Elysian Fields) and Mike Patton (of Faith No More, Tomahawk and Mr. Bungle) on vocals. The mixes on Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By featured Kid Koala on turntables, as well as a couple other Deltron 3030 collaborators.
