Vanity 6 is the 1982 self-titled debut and only studio album by American R&B/Pop vocal girl group Vanity 6 released on Warner Bros. The group had been created by Prince as an outlet for his prolific song writing.
Vanity 6 was formed in Prince's hometown of Minneapolis, where singer/actress Vanity (whose real name is Denise Matthews) got together with fellow singers Brenda Bennett (a native of Boston) and Susan Moonsie.

The self-titled debut from Prince’s girl group Vanity 6 was released on August 11, 1982 and peaked at number 45 on the Billboard 200. Produced by Prince under the pseudonym The Starr Company, Vanity 6 had four singles: He’s So Dull, Drive Me Wild, Bite The Beat, and its biggest hit, Nasty Girl, which hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart. The Vanity 6 album was certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies in August of 1985.
Nasty Girl" is a song written and composed by American musician Prince. The song was first recorded by his protégé girl group Vanity 6 in 1982, who charted at number one on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart with their version. Inaya Day recorded a hit cover version of the song in 2004 that reached number 9 in the UK Singles Chart. There have also been several other versions of this song.
