Miracle is an album by Willy DeVille. Recorded in 1987, it was the first album that Willy DeVille recorded under his own name. Prior to Miracle, DeVille recorded six albums with the band Mink DeVille, the last four of which were really solo albums by Willy DeVille in that no members of the original band played on the four albums. Miracle was recorded in London and produced by Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler, who also co-wrote the song Spanish Jack with DeVille

Willy DeVille moved from the group Mink DeVille to a solo recording career with very little stylistic change, which is no surprise given that the band was really a front for DeVille's songs and vocals anyway. The big change on Miracle is that DeVille collaborates with Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler, whose distinctive fretwork is prominently displayed, and who brings along bandmates like keyboard player Guy Fletcher, and buddies like guitarist Chet Atkins. Nevertheless, the sound is still early- to mid-'60s pop/soul. The album contains DeVille's "Storybook Love,".

Collected is a compilation of Willy DeVille's tenure as charismatic front man of Mink DeVille, and of his later solo work. After the sixth Mink DeVille album, Willy goes solo with Miracle, working together with Mark Knopfler. The song "Storybook Love" became a hit because of the film The Princess' Bride. After a musical journey, DeVille scored a hit with his "Hey Joe" cover in 1992. His last album Pistola is released in 2008. A year later, Willy DeVille dies of pancreatic cancer aged 58.
