Witold Małcużyński (August 10, 1914 near Warsaw - July 17, 1977 Majorca) was a Polish pianist who specialized in Chopin. Brother of Karol Małcużyński, politician and journalist. He began playing the piano at the age of 10 and eventually studied at the Warsaw Conservatory. Originally he intended to study law but switched to music, studying under a pupil of Busoni.

Piano, Primary Artist.

Witold Malcuzynski - Formidable Polish pianist who studied with a grand student of Busoni, and with Paderewski. Witold Malcuzynski was one of the great pianists of my youth. I spent my teenage years listening to him play Chopin. I had the chance to see him live at Carnegie Hall in New York a few years before he died when he performed the Liszt B minor Sonata, a performance I will never forget. This supremely elegant pianist with a shock of blond-white hair reached a point in the score which contained a passage of very complex finger work in the right hand. He rested his left hand on top of the piano as if he were at a cocktail party, and I thought to myself, that is how to play Liszt.

The Pianist is a studio album by American pianist, composer and bandleader Duke Ellington compiled from sessions in 1966 and 1970, and released on the Fantasy label in 1974.

The great polish pianist malcuzynski's playing was noted for its aristocratic elegance and fully rounded tone. Like atur rubinstein, malcuzynski was a celebrated interpreter of chopin. Here he plays two mazurkas and the grand polonaise in a flat o. 3. Malcuzynski had the ability to sound personal and individual without being eccentric and was equally at home with chopin's grandeur and heroics as he was his deep melancholy.

Witold Małcużyński (August 10, 1914 – July 17, 1977) was a distinguished Polish pianist who specialized in the works of Frédéric Chopin. His playing was marked by great passion and poetry. Małcużyński was born in 1914. He was the older brother of Karol Małcużyński, a Polish politician and journalist. He began playing piano at the age of 5, starting regular lessons four years later.
