Fairytale is the second album from British singer-songwriter Donovan. It was first released in the UK on 22 October 1965 through Pye Records (catalog number NPL 18128). The US version of Fairytale was released by Hickory Records (catalog number LPM 127, LPS 127 ) in November 1965 with a slightly different set of songs. Peter Eden and Geoff Stephens produced the album. Fairytale finds Donovan evolving his styles further towards British folk, especially on songs such as "Summer Day Reflection Song" and "Jersey Thursday". Sunny Goodge Street" foreshadows the jazzy feel and descriptions of life in urban London that Donovan would continue to explore over the next two years. Like his previous album What's Bin Did and What's Bin Hid, Fairytale primarily features Donovan singing and playing mouth harp and acoustic guitar.

In 1965, before Donovan's . contract was transferred to Epic, he made 30-plus recordings for Pye in the . all in an acoustic folk mold (with occasional additional instruments and percussion).

Summer Day Reflection Songs is a compilation album from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released on April 25, 2000. In 2000, Castle Records released every song of Donovan's 1965 Pye Records recordings on one collection. Summer Day Reflection Songs features all of the tracks from What's Bin Did and What's Bin Hid and Fairytale, as well as all of Donovan's Pye single recordings, B-sides and EP tracks. Castle also included "Every Man Has His Chain", a song that had only previously appeared as a track on a French EP dating from 1965.
