Echo & the Bunnymen. Album Heaven Up Here. You said something will change We were all dressed up Somewhere to go No sign of rain But something will change You promised. You said nothing will change We were almost near Almost far Down came the rain But nothing will change You promised. A promise A promise A promise. It's exactly the same You said It's always the same But I'll make it change Into something the same I promise.

Echo And The Bunnymen – A Promise Genre: RockStyle: New Wave, Indie RockYear: 1981. Truly one of a kind voice that epitomizes what that decade was about. Still torn 30 + years later between this album and Loveless by MB. 4 years назад. Had no knowledge of the band until heard this on Peel, bought it next day, still one of my favourite Bunnymen tunes. The song is full of yearning nostalgia, and guess what it makes me feel so nostalgic listening to it now, but hey 1981 was a actually a pretty crap year to be around in England in truth.
This song is by Echo & the Bunnymen and appears on the album Heaven Up Here (1981) and on the compilation album Ballyhoo: The Best of Echo & The Bunnymen (1997).
