His first solo album Color Strip (2006) came out on Warp Records after he signed to the label at age 18. This release was followed by XXX (2010) on !K7 Records in 2010  . Edgar's solo album XXX, formerly called Deeper, came out June 2010 on K7 Records. Around that time Edgar continued to tour internationally, notably in cities such as Tokyo, Zagreb, Istanbul, Athens, Tallinn, Moscow, Turin, London, and Berlin. In 2012, Edgar released the solo album Majenta, on Hotflush Recordings.

Jimmy Edgar's second album is where he struck gold, in my opinion. Not only is it infectiously funky the whole way through, it's also eminently listenable whether you're on a dancefloor or not. There's a slick, assured quality to the production, yet also something marvellously old-school about it - and it's got that Detroit thang - in spades. The influences range effortlessly from motown, to Giorgio Moroder to Kraftwerk and George Clinton. 80s electro brought full-force into the future, via Jimmy Edgar's debut ablum, COLOR STRIP.

COLORSTRIP is the debut by electronic wunderkind Jimmy Edgar. Connecting points across genres as diverse as early-1980s disco and freestyle, as well as the angular experimentation of Detroit techno and contemporary R&B, Edgar's broken funk deploys re-jiggered hip-hop, along with the baroque programming finesse of IDM.

XXX is a studio album by techno producer Jimmy Edgar. Edgar began producing XXX, his second solo album under his real name, around 2008. Edgar used more analog recording techniques than his previous releases, which had been in the genres of glitch and Detroit techno. Edgar also plays bass guitar on several tracks, and collaborates with several guest vocalists.
