EMPEROR frontman Ihsahn (real name: Vegard Sverre Tveitan) has once again dismissed the idea of the band writing and recording a comeback album. The band's last studio album, "Prometheus - The Discipline Of Fire & Demise", was released in 2001 and was written entirely by Ihsahn. The band broke up shortly thereafter, with Ihsahn going on to pursue a solo career, while guitarist Samoth (real name: Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen) partook in a variety of bands, including SCUM and ZYKLON

Emperor released their debut EP, Emperor, under Candlelight Records. The band then was signed to the infamous first black metal label, Deathlike Silence Productions, and planned to release their next album soon, though the band never managed to release any material while signed to DSP. In the summer of 1992, a series of events were set in motion by the black metal inner circle. Thus, in 2001, Emperor decided to disband after releasing one final album, Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire & Demise, composed entirely by Ihsahn. He was quoted as saying: "It's kind of a lose-lose thing. The whole point of black metal, people want something that is real and has integrity of what it is. At this point, none of us can see any reason to do that beyond what we already d.

Master Plan is a 1990 studio album by drummer Dave Weckl. Tower of Inspiration" - 3:59. Here and There" - 6:08. Festival de Ritmo" - 4:52. Softly, as in a Morning Sunrise" - 5:01. Island Magic" - 4:55. Eric Marienthal (2-4) - Saxophone. Jay Oliver (1-6, 8, 9) - Keyboards, Piano. Michael Brecker (5) - Tenor Saxophone.

The two albums are included in their entirety, and then come the outtakes, B-sides, and BBC Sessions - the kind of thing that seems like collector bait but, in the context of this box, whose messiness only highlights how this was possibly James' creative peak. All the untitled jams - and there are a lot, some subtitled with instructive descriptions like "Fabulous Melody But Unusual Bass" or "Beefheart Jam" - give a good sense of the band's ambition, while the live renditions show how they could sharpen their execution on-stage

Bing, bang, dingy, dong, wah, wah, wah, ling, a bon. But I knew there was something there. If only I could extract the magic, it would be like pulling a diamond ring out of a septic tank. Three years after Emperor released their stunning debut, 1991’s hyper-speed black-metal statement In the Nightside Eclipse, the band was in a sorry state. Two members had been serving prison sentences, one for arson, the other for murder, so singer-guitarist Ihsahn had to soldier on with a new lineup until his guitar foil, founding member Samoth, was released from behind bars. The Dillinger Escape Plan, ‘Calculating Infinity’ (1999). Rock bands had been experimenting with unconventional rhythms for decades – see: King Crimson’s Larks’ Tongues in Aspic (1973), to cite just one example – but it never added up to a movement until the Dillinger Escape Plan released Calculating Infinity.

Say Wah! 10 of the Greatest Wah Pedal Songs of All Time (VIDEO). Publish date: Mar 2, 2015. Updated on. Nov 15, 2017. The wah pedal has played a role in music ever since Vox first brought it to market in the Sixties. Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton were among the first to put it to use, giving their wah-wahs such a workout that it was impossible to deny the pedal’s expressive value. Since then, the wah pedal has been employed by guitarists like Slash, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and countless others
