The Condor Legion (German: Legion Condor) was a unit composed of military personnel from the air force and army of Nazi Germany, which served with the Nationalists during the Spanish Civil War of July 1936 to March 1939. The Condor Legion developed methods of strategic bombing which were used widely in the Second World War shortly afterwards. The bombing of Guernica was the most infamous operation carried out by the Condor Legion.

The German three-plane fighter air force first engaged the enemy on August 25, 1936, when ‘Hannes’ Trautloft began the scoring by shooting down a French-designed and Spanish-built Breguet XIX two-seater bomber/tactical reconnaissance biplane. Eberhardt downed a second Breguet during the same encounter. German pilots were no longer volunteers. He returned to Germany as the leading Experte of the Condor Legion.

This was a Condor Legion fighter group that served in the Spanish Civil War and consisted of a headquarters (Stab) and four squadrons (Staffeln) The last commanding officer of J/88 was Hauptmann Walter Grabmann, who served from September 1938 through March 1939. In April 1938, Oberleutnant Werner Mölders arrived and took over the 3. Staffel from Adolf Galland and displayed considerable qualities as both pilot and tactician. He was beloved by his squadron: they called him Papa Mölders. DESCRIPTION:Here is a large tureen in porcelain that was issued for the mess hall of the Deutsche Luftwaffe (German Air Force). This is a covered tureen unlike the one shown above on this page, which is coverless. The other never had a cover nor was it meant to.

Combined reprint of "Fighters of the Luftwaffe" and "Bombers of the Luftwaffe". Fighter" and "bomber" sections are numbered individually; page numbers above are preceded by "f" or "b," respectively.

The ‘Condor Legion’ - a unit of volunteers from the Luftwaffe participating in the Spanish Civil War - prepare for inspection in Avila, Spain. German-made Junkers Ju-87B Stuka dive bombers, part of the Condor Legion, in flight above Spain on May 30, 1939, during the Spanish Civil War. The black-and-white X on the tail and wings is Saint Andrew’s Cross, the insignia of Franco’s Nationalist Air Force. The Condor Legion was composed of volunteers from the German Army and Air Force. Smoke streaks and battle damage were added to the aircraft during the weathering process. I purposely left one of the landing gear doors off so I could make it look as though it was ripped off when the plane crashed through the wooden fence I made out of toothpicks.

Sample this album Artist (Sample). Here we have a foot-stomping selection of some of the best military-marches of German origin. Most of these tunes are 19th century parade-ground music, with some newer additions as well. This takes you back to an era of spiked-topped helmets, polished brass, and cavalry sabers. If your neighbors are French, Polish, or Russian,.
