The original Sonics reunited briefly in 1972 for a live show at Seattle's Paramount Theater, with the recording of this show released as Live Fanz Only by Etiquette. In 1980, a new Sonics fronted by Gerry Roslie recorded the album Sinderella, which featured versions of the original band's material. The emergence of punk rock in the late '70s and grunge in the '90s led to new interest in the Sonics, and much of their material was re-released by labels in the US and Europe. Larry and Andy Parypa continued performing with various bands in the Northwest, while Roslie, Lind,. The Witch"/"Bama Lama Bama Loo" (Great Northwest, 1979). The Witch"/"Keep A-Knockin'" (Norton, 1998). Psycho"/"Have Love Will Travel" (Norton, 1998).

The album (actually the band's third longplayer, not their first) features the classic Sonics lineup: razorblade-gargling lead vocalist/ keyboard man Gerry Roslie, apocalyptic guitarist Larry Parypa, honking tenor saxman Rob Lind, leather-fingered bassman Andy Parypa, and caveman drummer Bob Bennett. And lefs get one thing straight here: The Sonics were, hands down, the most powerful band ever to come from the Pacific Northwest. Next up, four monstrous bonus tracks, not found on the original LP. "Bama Lama Bama Loo, written by Georgia Peach and King Of Screech, Little Richard, finds Lind's volcanic tenor erupting here like he just stepped off the Greyhound bus, elbowed Mr. Penniman's sax-man off the bandstand, and started blowing like somebody had o gun to his head.
Gerry Roslie left the band and there was a new singer who completely changed the style of the band. There were a few more singles added that sounded very pop but completely flopped. In 1968, the band finally broke up completely. Too late fame came The Sonics during the punk explosion in the late 1970s and were marketed as a garage punk or punk Sixties. Indeed, there are musical parallels, which is why the band is seen by many as one of the first punk bands. The Bomp label managed in 1979 to get the original cast for another album in the studio . The Witch", " Bama Lama Bama Loo " ( Great Northwest, 1979). The Witch", " Keep A - Knockin ' " (Norton, 1998). Psycho", " Have Love Will Travel " (Norton, 1998).
Boom is the second studio album by the American garage rock band The Sonics, released in February 1966. Boom was released in 1966 by record label Etiquette ET-ALBS-027. Like its predecessor Here Are The Sonics (1965), Boom was influential on later punk rock music (see protopunk). Gerry Roslie – keyboard, vocals.
