Disc 1 of this set is an album. A work of art. In my opinion one of the best CDs ever produced.

Agreed 100%. This was my intro to Shackleton, and I've never turned back since. Impeccable music.

It's rare that I recommend a compilation because most are just arbitrary collections of disjoint tracks. They are not very functional, except perhaps for a DJ. This is an exception, because it plays almost like an album. The compilation is cohesive; apart from Villalobos' microhouse take on "Blood On My Hands" you are getting dark, tribal dubstep. Moreover, it can be expensive or otherwise difficult to collect the 20 or so individual records released on Skull Disco that comprise this CD. So, for those who enjoy Shackleton's and Appleblim's sound and would like a large sampling at low cost, this is a perfect solution. Ideally the label would have released a box set instead of a compilation CD, but given it shut down in 2008, this is no longer likely.
