This single CD reissues all of the music originally on pianist Bobby Timmons' final two studio albums: Do You Know the Way and Got to Get It. Timmons, who died at the age of 38 in 1974 indirectly from years of drug abuse, is best known for his work in the late '50s/early '60s, but he still had something strong to offer during 1967-1968. The earlier album has the pianist in an unusual setting (for him): at the head of a nonet arranged by Tom McIntosh.

Robert Henry "Bobby" Timmons (December 19, 1935 – March 1, 1974) was an American jazz pianist and composer. He was a sideman in Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers for two periods (July 1958 to September 1959; February 1960 to June 1961), between which he was part of Cannonball Adderley's band. Several of Timmons' compositions written when part of these bands – including "Moanin'", "Dat Dere", and "This Here" – enjoyed commercial success and brought him more attention . Got to Get It! released: 2007. Chun-King released: 2006. The Prestige Trio Sessions released: 2003.
