Certainly the best Beatles album- it shows every side of them. Their rocking side (the opening track, Getting Better, the reprise), their soft, melodic, beautiful side (She's Leaving Home), their experimental side (Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Fixing A Hole, Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite!, Within You Without You, and A Day In The Life of course. and their pop side. 1. With The Beatles 2. Beatles For Sale 3. A Hard Day's Night.

The White Album 50th anniversary is in November. Ringo Starr’s singing on Boys is pure jubilation and Please Please Me was their first of countless earworm hits. And of course, it ends with the grand finale: John Lennon, giving what was left of his vocal cords to cover Twist and Shout. There are some clunky moments - Misery and Ask Me Why are meh and I’ve never been a fan of . I Love You - but if you couldn’t go to the Cavern Club and experience the band live before they hit it big, this is a pretty great replacement.

The Beatles, Meet The Beatles, The Beatles’ Second Album (though All Music Guide makes a good case for it), Something New, Beatles ’65, and Beatles IV. The countless repackaged retrospectives and rarities comps, from Past Masters to The Beatles Anthology, are excluded too. OK, let’s do it! . Even Paul isn’t entirely stuck in his old ways if singing in French counts as broadening your horizons. Just kidding; Macca jams like I’m Looking Through You and You Won’t See Me are highly advanced specimens on an album full of them. By 1967, the Beatles were tired of being the Beatles. They had given up touring to work full-time in the studio, where they were undertaking an arms race with Brian Wilson to surpass the Beach Boys’ auditory advances. Wilson, for his part, had also moved on from the teeny-bopping hits of yore; while the other Beach Boys toured, he stayed home to record.

Boys" is a song by Luther Dixon and Wes Farrell, originally performed by the Shirelles and released as the B-side of their "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" single in November 1960. It was recorded more than two years later by the Beatles and included on their first album released in the United Kingdom, Please Please Me (1963). The Beatles' version was recorded at Abbey Road Studios on February 11, 1963, in a single take.

What are the best albums by The Beatles? BestEverAlbums. com brings together thousands of 'greatest ever album' charts and calculates an overall ranking. The Best of the Beatles featuring Pete Best. The National, Richmond, United States. Tickets from Ticketmaster Get tickets. 15. The Who. 16. U2. 17. Neil Young. 19. Bruce Springsteen.

The Beatles' final album, which was actually recorded before 'Abbey Road' but released after, was mired in confusion. After the sprawling and tension-filled sessions for 'The White Album,' in which the four members basically became each other's backing bands, the Beatles secluded themselves in the studio, hoping to rekindle their passion for music and each other. It didn't work out that way. The album sat on the shelves for more than a year, until producer Phil Spector tried assembling a record from the aborted sessions. The Beatles' third album doubles as the soundtrack to their first movie. But more importantly, it's the first Beatles album to include all original songs by Lennon and McCartney. Not all of the songs ended up in the film, but 'A Hard Day's Night' is the group's first LP that flows with some consistency, since there are no covers (or cuts sung by Ringo) to disrupt the pace.

Last weekend we asked our readers to select the best album covers of all time. In the age of the MP3, the album cover is really a lost art – which probably explains why 90 percent of the albums that readers selected come from the 1960s and the 1970s, though London Calling is somewhat of a grey area. It was released in Europe in December 1979, but it didn't hit American shelves until January 1980. Hollywood stuntmen Ronnie Rondell and Danny Rogers worked on nearly 200 movies – including Speed, Titanic, Beverly Hills Cop, Bad Boys and Waterworld. They remain best known for a single photograph taken on the Warner Bros. He asked the Beatles to give him old photos of themselves, and he pasted some of them onto his own drawings. He had trouble with George Harrison's face, so he pasted newspaper photos of eyes and lips onto it.

The White Album is the best Beatles album because it shows most fully the Beatles range of songwriting skills and influence. Everyone is writing at their best (even Ringo wrote a hit!). The White Album is the perfect example of what the Beatles were: the greatest interpreters of the world's music. No other album encompasses their genius as completely. It's cohesiveness is found in its sheer diversity.

The Beatles (commonly known as The White Album) is the eponymous tenth studio album by English rock band The Beatles.

What about the Hey Jude/Beatles Again album? Is there a reason why it’s not listed – not that you have to justify it to me (tongue in cheek).
