Under a Raging Moon is Roger Daltrey's sixth solo album issued in September 1985. The album reached No. 42 on the US charts, and the single "After the Fire", written by Pete Townshend, reached No. 48. It includes a tribute to Keith Moon, former drummer of The Who who died in 1978, on the track "Under a Raging Moon". In Canada, the album reached No. 33 on the RPM Magazine charts, and "After the Fire" reached No. 53.
It’s teen angst blown up to literally biblical proportions, resonating like no emo band before or since to outcasts in Sunday school and high school. But as sure as Brand New is an emo band, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me is not an emo record. It might actually be post-emo: Was losing all my friends, was losing them to drinking and to driving, Lacey mutters with unsettling resignation on the album’s first lyric. He sounds no more relieved to say in the next line, Was losing all my friends, but I got ‘em back. At the Disco, and My Chemical Romance that defined emo in the MySpace era. This was all very risky in 2006, especially for a band making its major label debut.
BBC: The new album is called Devil And God Are Raging Inside Of Me. What does it mean? Jesse: I don’t think the title was meant specifically for one idea, but more that it touched on the band and also certain things that were evident when you listen to it. It really came from a conversation I was having with a friend about a musician who got an illness which has a certain level of paranoia and schizophrenia, and it leans towards a spiritual thing, a battle between good and evil which is intriguing. The phrase itself was pretty cool, and reading it somewhere else would be striking, so that was.
The Secret Disco Revolution-the period of dancing, sex, drugs, white polyester, platform shoes and disco balls.
Why won’t Disco die? Might it contain hidden depths? Politically correct revisionists are trying to recast disco as a misunderstood culture of protest. Through interviews with Gloria Gaynor, The Village People, Kool and the Gang and others, along with a goldmine of stock footage and speculative reenactments, The Secret Disco Revolution presents a comic-ironic investigation into disco and its mysterious longevity.
These are among the alternately illuminating and preposterous observations meted out in The Secret Disco Revolution, Jamie Kastner's quasi-satirical documentary in which the disco years are alleged to have been nothing less than a powerful liberation movement for women, blacks and gays. Oh, and it was really, really fun. PHOTOS: Donna Summer's Life and Career in Pictures . Ethel Merman's disco album. But its copious doses of nostalgic archival footage make it an enjoyable diversion nonetheless.
15 - She Ran Off With A Nigger (Texas BS Band). 16 - Ship Those Niggers Back (Odis & The 3 Bigots). Growing up Johnny Rebel was a gateway for me to get into country music. He's catchy racist songs are excellent comedy and I want to thank the poster for saving this History. I used to watch videos of Johnny Rebel all the time on youtube growing up and then Youtube became PC and started banning them.
