Hello, Dolly! (Louis Armstrong album). The tracks were mostly recorded on December 3, 1963, and April 18, 1964, in New York City. It was released by Kapp Records in 1964 and became Armstrong's most commercially successful album.

Louis Armstrong was an American jazz trumpeter and singer who was one of the most influential figures in jazz music. This biography of Louis Armstrong provides detailed information about his childhood, life, achievements, works & timeline.

Louis Armstrong was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 4, 1901. He was raised by his mother Mayann in a neighborhood so dangerous it was called The Battlefield. He only had a fifth-grade education, dropping out of school early to go to work. Armstrong and Oliver became the talk of the town with their intricate two-cornet breaks and started making records together in 1923. By that point, Armstrong began dating the pianist in the band, Lillian Hardin. In America, Armstrong had been a great Civil Rights pioneer for his race, breaking down numerous barriers as a young man. In the 1950s, he was sometimes criticized for his onstage persona and called an Uncle Tom but he silenced critics by speaking out against the government’s handling of the Little Rock Nine high school integration crisis in 1957.

Louis Armstrong was a superstar - and truly the one and only Ambassador of Jazz. Louis Armstrong topped both the Billboard singles chart and album chart with Hello Dolly, he also had huge success around the world. Stream Louis Armstrong’s The Decca Singles 1935-1946 Collection.
