Brief Lives Whistleblower (Self-Released). A two song 7″ that continues their tense and guitar based brand of post-hardcore, the title track musically sounds like a lost Hoover tune, with that familiar fragmented sense of melody against gruff vocals. It has short bursts of clever guitar bits amid the DC-ish atmosphere that sounds very Dischord Records circa 1993. The B-side is a quicker affair, almost having a Quicksand meets . Band feel with quieter ebbs between the driving rock.
Brief Lives is a new name for me but on their new 2-song 7 they get the job done with their particular brand of abrasive post-hardcore. In gruff vocals of course that are in accordance with the gritty Dischord atmosphere wipt up by Brief Lives. They step on the gas in No Voice but slow down throughout the song as if to make sure they leave no man behind. Solid 7 ! Tags: brief lives. Posts We Think You Might Like.

Taken as a whole, their acts are as awe inspiring as saving human lives out of a love of humanity and as trifling as slowing the issuance of a report out of spite or anger. In 2016, the rock band Thrice released a song titled "Whistleblower" off of the album To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere In July 2018, CBS debuted a new reality television show entitled "Whistleblower", hosted by lawyer, former judge and police officer Alex Ferrer which covers qui tam suits under the False Claims Act against companies that have allegedly defrauded the federal government.
Post-hardcore outfit Brief Lives seem to harbor a deep love of '90s outfits like Quicksand and Jawbox, if their latest 7-inch Whistleblower is any indication. Only two songs are up for discussion here, but the worship is clear: Brief Lives favor snarling yet twisting guitar lines, forceful yet clear vocals, and a songwriting approach that's heavy yet melodic. It's a short, perhaps derivative listen. Whistleblower kicks off with its title track, clocking in just shy of four minutes.
The Whistleblower is a 2010 ican biographical crime drama film directed by Larysa Kondracki and starring Rachel Weisz. Kondracki and Eilis Kirwan wrote the screenplay, which was inspired by the story of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska police officer who was recruited as a United Nations peacekeeper for DynCorp International in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1999.
Chris Compton, Patrick Dewit Aaron Boles, Valient Himself. I still jam Whistleblower all the time and I remember you guys went. Brief Lives recorded a track for a Helmet- Meantime covers record put out by Magnetic Eye Records. All the tracks were already dialed, but we did a cover of Milquetoast which was technically on "Betty", but first released (with a slightly different version) on the Crow soundtrack.
Brief Lives - Whistleblower 7" EP This one was a grower for me. It's described as 2 tracks of blast of DC-inspired punk rock. But that doesn't seem to sum it up for me. There's a ton going on here in these two cuts, and really, they come across as a cool blend of Quicksand-metal with a touch of grunge, a punky attitude and even a bit of shoegaze. There's a touch of Fugazi, some hints towards Henry Rollins band. There's huge slicing guitars, angular riffs, dynamic time changes, mood shifts
