Sir Elton Hercules John CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight, 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums. The 1980 World Tour was a concert tour by English musician and composer Elton John, in support of his 14th studio album 21 at 33. the tour included two legs (North America and Oceania) and a total of 63 shows. John's 1980 tour was unique for two reasons: it was the only tour he has ever done that had a guitarist in the band, but did not include Davey Johnstone, and it is the only time a band member (in this case drummer Nigel Olsson) has done songs from his solo career in the middle of a show.
Central Park is one of those places that make New York such a great place to live. The huge park, 341 hectare large (843 acres), is located in the center of Manhattan. Its design has served as an example for city parks around the world. In 1857, the city of New York organized a competition for the design of this new park, which had to rival with the great parks in London and Paris. A design by Frederic Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, named 'the Greensward Plan' was chosen. Charles A. Dana Discovery Center.
Elton’s second album in the UK was released on April 10, 1970 and then later, on July 22, became his first US release. The album was the first of many to be produced by Gus Dudgeon and as well as being certified gold by the RIAA, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. It included one of Elton’s biggest hits, Your Song, and has since been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Elton John made his American debut at Doug Weston’s nightclub on the night of August 25, 1970 and almost immediately after he, Nigel Olsson and Dee Murray left the stage at 9081 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, the aftershocks of his seismic recital began to roll across the landscape of not only his own career but also popular music worldwide.
