Daryl Hall and John Oates, often referred to as Hall & Oates, are an American pop rock duo. Daryl Hall is generally the lead vocalist; John Oates primarily plays electric guitar and provides backing vocals. The two write most of the songs they perform, separately or in collaboration. They achieved their greatest fame from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s with a fusion of rock and roll and rhythm and blues.

No living composer is more closely associated with the Christmas season than John Rutter, whose piece Shepherd's Pipe Carol, first placed him on the map of Yule some 35 or so Christmases ago. Rutter is the primary artistic force behind Collegium Records, which in 2002 made a trip to the vaults and culled together The John Rutter Christmas Album
Rod Stewart - Merry Christmas, Baby. Rod finally got round to making his first Christmas album in 2012, and it was worth the wait. It's a fun treasure trove of feel good classics and laid back ballads, and also features duets with Michael Bublé, Ella Fitzgerald and others. 3. Michael Bublé - Christmas. Speaking of Bublé, we're pretty sure every household in the UK has this album hanging around somewhere. The score for the classic half-hour Christmas TV special is a beautiful piece of festive magic. So magic in fact, that it was voted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and added to the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry list of "culturally, historically, or aesthetically important" sound recordings. 9. Sarah McLachlan - Wintersong. Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan released this album of Christmas songs in 2006, and it was the best-selling Christmas album of that year.
While Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas has been recorded more times than probably any of us can count, it’s the emotional Judy Garland version from Meet Me in St. Louis that stands above the rest. Barenaked Ladies & Sarah McLachlan – "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings". Fun fact: Barenaked Ladies came out with a Christmas album. More fun fact: the best song on it is the irresistible harmony between the band and McLachlan, whose angelic voice lends itself perfectly to anything to do with Christmas. Kelly Clarkson – "Underneath the Tree"
This album, originally released as The Magic of Christmas in 1960, provides baritone reassurance that Christmas is a happy time, not an annual family debacle. But the secret ingredient is Cole singing hymns in German and Latin: straining to put across foreign lyrics, you can hear him employing all his professional skill. Oscar Peterson, ‘An Oscar Peterson Christmas’. Peterson, one of the most accomplished pianists in jazz history, played with Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and Count Basie, among other luminaries. On this 1995 album, he found that the true meaning of Christmas was cool jazz instrumentals. At age 70, he no longer needed to prove his virtuosity; instead, he plays with a light touch and leads a swinging six-piece band.
