The Rutles is a soundtrack album to the 1978 telemovie All You Need Is Cash. The album contains 14 of the tongue-in-cheek pastiches of Beatles songs that were featured in the film. The primary creative force of the Rutles' music was Neil Innes, the sole composer and arranger of the songs.

Notes: this is everything I have in terms of The Rutles, five complete releases with separate artwork for each one. I loved this stuff when "All You Need Is Cash" was released, played the double album to death, and to be honest some of these tracks are pretty good, albeit defaced versions of actual Beatle songs. As an side note, you might want to check out "Deface The Music" by Utopia, Todd Rundgren did a fantastic job of creating his own "defaced" Beatles-type songs. On New Year's Day 1962, the Rutles recorded 15 songs (with 3 originals) for Mecca after Leggy Mountbatten had contacted many labels for the Rutles to record at. Brian Thigh turned the Rutles down by saying, "Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr. Mountbatten". The songs now exist only as a bootleg. This was prior to Barry becoming part of the group so drums were played by Kevin .
