Dawn of the Dickies was The Dickies' second album, released in 1979. It included the UK hits "Nights in White Satin" (a high-speed cover of a Moody Blues song) which reached No. 39 in the UK chart in September 1979 and "Fan Mail" which made No. 57 in February 1980. The album's title and jacket cover, depicting the band members set upon by "zombies" in blue make-up, was a salute to the George A. Romero horror film, Dawn of the Dead. Where Did His Eye Go?" - 3:41 (Phillips, Lee).

ABOVE: The Dawn Of The Out-Take EP and Killer Klowns From Outer Space EP - outside the Punky Gibbon scope but great releases anyway. Two of that album's eleven songs – ‘Booby Trap' and ‘Magoomba' - had previously been aired (in different versions) on the Killer Klowns From Outer Space EP (1988), the title number of which comes from the film of the same name and is, like the film itself, something of a guilty pleasure.
Tracks 3 is erroneously spelt 'Many, Moe & Jack' instead of 'Manny, Moe & Jack'. Other Versions (5 of 22) View All. Cat.
The Dickies became known for their campy and humerous live performances, which fit with their influences like The Ramones, who they opened with several times; in fact, they would open for The Ramones for various gigs. The Dickies released a third album in 1983 entitled Stukas Over Disneyland, which includes a cover of The Quick's "Pretty Please Me" and Led Zeppelin's "Communication Breakdown. In 1988, the Dickies wrote and performed the theme music for the horror film Killer Klowns from Outer Space. The following year they released Second Coming, and in 1990. The Dickies first album may have come out almost 40 years ago now, but they played and perfomed like no time has passed. Report as inappropriate.
