This music collection of Dogma: Music From the Motion Picture soundtrack caught my interest due to me previously enjoying the Dogma film affiliated with this soundtrack. It is helpful to be open to have an eclectic taste in music because a multiple number of the songs are music scores. However, I did enjoy the Still song by Alanis Morissette on this collection. I understand Howard Shore has made great soundtracks remembered by all, but even soloists from the London Phil. can't make a corny score sound well. Mooby", track 2 is particularly obnoxious. Don't get me wrong, I do like religious music, Fauré and Mozart's requiems, etc; I just don't like this pretence of the same genre. As "a customer" wrote: "if you love hearing children's choirs on drugs singing a song with lyrics on drugs". The CD itself is nice, the design on the disc, I mean.

Description: Album Description Movie soundtrack from the comedy/drama was originally released in 1999 and features 10 tracks including the previously unreleased track 'Still' from Alanis Morissette. In terms of gimmick appeal, what could be more absurd than casting Alanis Morissette as God? But that's exactly who Morissette plays in a cameo role for the latest Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy) movie. The remainder of the soundtrack features no such pop rewards. Instead, film scoring veteran Howard Shore (Philadelphia, Seven) contributes eight instrumental pieces that are far more playful than solemn, performed by a 30-piece version of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. One additional track, "Mooby the Golden Calf," features indecipherable lyrics by Kevin Smith and a children's choir clearly running amuck.
