Ali was the caliph between 656 and 661 CE, one of the hardest periods in Muslim history, coinciding with the first Muslim civil war. He reigned over the Rashidun empire which extended from Central Asia in the east to North Africa in the west. He became known as a both just and fair ruler. After the assassination of the third Caliph, Uthman Ibn Affan, at the close of the Siege of Uthman, the selection of a new Caliph encountered difficulties.
2010 has been the Year of Nato Caliph. He's dropped multiple videos, a couple singles, an EP and now another solid album. The new project, entitled Knowledge Cipher, continues Nato's style of smooth storytelling that he exhibits effortlessly on every track. As always, features and production are pulled from the expansive lineup of the Force and other St. Louis greats, including hooks from Bryant Stewart, verses from Corey Black and Indiana Rome, beats from DJ Crucial and Tech Supreme, and more
Abdülmecid II, the last Ottoman caliph, held his caliphal position for a couple of years after the partitioning, but with Mustafa Kemal's secular reforms and the subsequent exile of the royal Osmanoğlu family from the Republic of Turkey in 1924, the caliphal position was abolished. Though the Young Turks had compelled the Sultan in his capacity as the Caliph to declare a jihad urging all Muslims to resist Allied encroachment on their lands, the effort was largely unsuccessful. The Young Turk government resigned en masse and Enver, Talat, and Cemal fled Turkey aboard a German warship.
And now that we're all alone Let's see how far we can go No point in taking it slow I know you want it. Take you places that you never been So come on baby let the games begin You know I'm always gonna let you win All I know, all I know, all I know. It's just like I told you Not so long that'd I told you believe You never met nobody like me No reason to fake it If you can't take it you'll see I'm gonna bring you down to your knees
