Upon hearing Ha, He, He! for the first time, it turns out, we never needed to look forward to MOURN growing into a great band; they already are one. When Mourn recorded Ha, Ha, H. they were just about to enter their twenties, and their second album reflects all the intensity and changes of those years. The band trades the PJ outbursts of their self-titled debut for slightly less expected influences: Throwing Muses and the mid-'90s heyday of Chicago post-rock, both of which suit Mourn's free-flowing emotions perfectly.

The band Mourn's brand of raw, tact garage rock certainly did that do us last year when they released their self-titled record, and are now putting us on full quarter-life crisis mode with their new record Ha, Ha, He.
