The most truly wonderful aspect of Death Angel's 2008 LP release "Killing Season" is its due dilligence to the Bay Area thrash sound by way of demonstration rather than mere duplication. The songs for the most part act as metal templates: they are honest, straightforward, and most definitely old school.

LP (12" album, 33 rpm). Death Angel Format: Vinyl. I've been listening to Death Angel since their "Frolic Through The Park Album" and "ACT III". I have also enjoyed their talent and musicianship, especially with the kinds of changes they do as a thrash metal band. However, the vocals were always too "tinnie" sounding, since the reverb was added so much to the vocals. However, I have just gotten back to checking these guys out again, since I was curious to see what they may or may not be doing as of late
After the 2004 comeback album The Art of Dying, Death Angel have finally released their anticipated 2nd reunion album. As you may know, reunion albums are mostly an accumulation of years of inactivity and therefore shelved ideas and some recent inspiration. For example, Exodus’ Tempo of the Damned included quite some material from Gary Holt’s thrash/groove experiment from the late nineties, therefore providing the band with lots of quality material.
