Rock and roll (often written as rock & roll or rock 'n' roll) is a genre of popular music that originated and evolved in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s from musical styles such as gospel, jump blues, jazz, boogie woogie, and rhythm and blues, along with country music. While elements of what was to become rock and roll can be heard in blues records from the 1920s and in country records of the 1930s, the genre did not acquire its name until 1954.
Loaded is the fourth studio album by American rock band the Velvet Underground, released in November 1970 by Atlantic Records' subsidiary label Cotillion. It was the final album recorded featuring founding member and main songwriter Lou Reed, who left shortly before its release. Loaded was ranked 110 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
The song ‘Save Rock and Roll’ is the title track from Fall Out Boy’s fifth album. It features well-known musician Elton John, and is about the mutual desire of both Fall Out Boy and Elton John to save rock music and everything it stands for from being replaced by meaningless ed music. In some ways, the song is also about the challenges people face in life, and how music can be a form of relief in hard times when one is despairing over the state of the world
And it’s perfectly true that once you strip the music down and analyze it, riff by riff, lick by lick, you find a mélange of blues conceits, prewar big-band and Western swing, gospel and other existing vocabularies. The younger generation of C&W fans were also listening and dancing to black music, and as a result white country musicians were encouraged to record R&B songs and play with a heavier, emphatically rocking beat. Meanwhile, many blacks growing up in isolated pockets of the rural South listened to and were influenced by the country music on radio programs like the Grand Ole Opry, from Nashville.
