Rolling deep when the, rivers high I don't need no, womans cries. Scrounging round them, old dark halls. Watch the devil when hes ready to call. We run, we run, oh down south Never look into those eyes of Satans wealth We run, we run, oh down south. People playing, with your heart Guns a firin', false start. Chest is heavy, with all your doubt. Children run and they scream they shout and. We run, we run, oh down south. Never look into those eyes of Satans wealth We run, we run, oh down south Pockets empty, theres fire in the air Your heart is lonely, but you don't care Mindless.
River Deep Mountain High is a studio album by the American R&B duo Ike & Tina Turner. The album contained songs from several sources, five songs produced by Phil Spector and seven songs that are older recordings produced by Ike Turner. It was released on London Records, only as an American import, in late 1966. After the Spector-produced "I'll Never Need More Than This" was released as a single in 1967, it was added to the album in place of one of the Turner-produced tracks.
December 11, 1980 5:00AM ET. The River. Since The River is the culmination of a trilogy that began in high gear with Born to Run (1975) before shifting down for Darkness on the Edge of Town (1978), you might expect it to stand and deliver weighty conclusions, words to live by. Well, they’re there, if you want or need them, and they’re filled with an uncommon common sense and intelligence that could only have come from an exceptionally warmhearted but wary graduate of the street of hard knocks. While most of The River runs wide and deep, there are a few problems. Ever since he started conceptualizing and thinking in terms of trilogies, Springsteen has lost some of his naturalness and seemed more than a bit self-conscious about being an artist.
