About Let It Be. One of The Beatles' many iconic ballads, written by McCartney. What have the artists said about the song? In an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune, Paul McCartney explained that the words Let it be came from a dream of his late mother. I think I was getting, like, a little bit over the top with – getting pretty tired and pretty wasted. You know, ‘Let it b. I woke up and I remembered the dream, and I thought, ‘Well, that’s a great idea. And I then sat down and wrote the song using the feeling from that dream and of my mum coming to me in the dream. In his last major interview conducted by David Sheff, John Lennon didn’t have much to say about the song. That’s Pau. hat can you say?

Let It Be is the twelfth and final studio album by English rock band The Beatles, released on 8 May 1970 by Apple Records. Issued almost a month after the band's breakup, it was originally conceived as Get Back, a return to their earlier, less complicated approach to music. Rehearsals began at Twickenham Film Studios in London in January 1969 as part of a planned documentary film showing the Beatles preparing to return to live performance.
