The Wraith: Shangri-La is the eighth studio album by American hip hop group Insane Clown Posse, released on November 5, 2002, by Psychopathic Records. Recording sessions for the album took place in 2002 at multiple recording studios throughout the United States. The album is the first of two albums representing the sixth Joker's Card in the group's Dark Carnival mythology. The album's lyrics describe the titular Wraith's exhibition of heaven.
After a decade of proudly releasing offensive, obnoxious, and immature music that sold like gangbusters to kids around the Midwest, the Insane Clown Posse finally reached their much-prophesied "sixth Joker card," the last album in a conceptual journey that started with 1992's Carnival of Carnage

The Wraith: Shangri-La, the sixth and final joker's card, the supposed end of it all. The last album to drop in the series of the six faces of the dark carnival. The Wraith guides you on your journey after death, be it good or evil. the good side of death. That's the story line behind this album. Its a little dramatic, but thats the gimmick. ICP's style seems to lean more towards the rock side of the genre with every release, and this album is no exception. Their earlier albums are heavily rap influenced, with minimal rock riffs, but The Wraith showcases the opposite. The rap is still there, but the rock is much more apparent than before. This sixth joker's card is ICP at their best.
