Elliott Smith is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Elliott Smith. It was preceded by the single "Needle in the Hay", released in early January.
Steven Paul "Elliott" Smith (August 6, 1969 – October 21, 2003) was an American songwriter and musician. Smith was born in Omaha, Nebraska, raised primarily in Texas, and resided for a significant portion of his life in Portland, Oregon, where he first gained popularity. His primary instrument was the guitar, but he was also proficient at piano, clarinet, bass, drums and harmonica.
Complete sua coleção de Elliott Smith. i tried this one since it was cheap and i wasn't disappointed. It's probably a new lacquer and it's probably coming from a digital source but it sounds very good.
It contains twelve songs which were recorded recorded from late 1994 to early 1995 at Tony Lash’s house and at Leslie Uppinghouse’s house. They also helped with the mixing of the album. The album is of a similar musical style to Roman Candle in its minimalist, acoustic folk sound. Smith mostly appears alone on his acoustic guitar, although he is occasionally backed up by the odd musical instrument, such as the harmonica and drums
Its sound is fairly similar to that of Roman Candle - it's mostly just Smith and his gently fingerpicked acoustic guitar, embellished a bit more often with drums, harmony vocals, and the odd additional instrument. Smith would flesh out his sound with the albums to come, but Elliott Smith contains the blueprint for his later successes, and more importantly, it's a fully realized work itself.
