Bob Dylan is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on March 19, 1962 by Columbia Records. Produced by Columbia's legendary talent scout John H. Hammond, who signed Dylan to the label, the album features folk standards, plus two original compositions, "Talkin' New York" and "Song to Woody".

I still sing that song every once in a while," Dylan said in 1985. It still stands up now as it did then. I don't know or particularly care who this song is about - though I've met a few people who have claimed it was about them (some who weren't even born in 1965). The real thrill for me was that "once upon a time" in the world, a song this radical was a hit on the radio.

It's a hard song to sing. I can sing it sometimes, but I ain't that good yet. I don't carry myself yet the way that Big Joe Williams, Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly and Lightnin' Hopkins have carried themselves. This album, in sum, is the protean Bob Dylan as of the time of the recording. By the next recording, there will be more new songs and insights and experiences. Anything I can sing," he observes, "I call a song. Anything I can't sing, I call a poem. Anything I can't sing or anything that's too long to be a poem, I call a novel. I've got basic common rights-whether I'm here in this country or any other place. I'll never finish saying everything I feel, but I'll be doing my part to make some sense out of the way we're living, and not living, now. All I'm doing is saying what's on my mind the best way I know how.

A song that really describes the change of times that took place in the 1960s with the Civil Rights Movement, Women Activists, Vietnam, and counter-culture movement Whose song gave new images and poetical expressions all around the world. You may not feel the same way but I've got new blood listening his old rhymes of 1963 ! A perfect one to listen to in the monsoon time.

Born: May 24, 1941, Duluth, Minnesota, USA; singer, songwriter, "song and dance man". Inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1982 and the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 (Performer). Winner of the 2016 Nobel Prize in literature.

THE songwriter's track with Bob Dylan appears on his most ambitious album to date, his sixth studio effort, a lush, orchestrated, shamelessly romantic opus that doesn’t hold back. Jack Savoretti also reveals his daughter helped name his latest album Singing To Strangers. There in small print on the back page of the booklet accompanying Singing To Strangers, underneath the intriguing title Touchy Situation, it says, wait for it, . avoretti/B. 8. Jack Savoretti talks to us about his career and working with Bob Dylan. I’ve literally sat down a little bit tipsy and giggled to myself about it. I feel like the guy who saw the bag of money and just grabbed it and ran. The song is further confirmation of the steady rise of the 35-year-old singer with a soulful rasp and a fierce dedication to his craft.

I’ve still got the scars that the sun didn’t heal. Of course, this Bob Dylan song nearly did serve as a final statement. Several months before Time Out of Mind was released, Dylan was laid low by a life-threatening bout with pericarditis, brought about by the fungal infection histoplasmosis. I really thought I’d be seeing Elvis soon, he said in a statement. The lead track on Dylan’s 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home, and his first top 40 hit on the Billbaord Hot 100, Subterranean Homesick Blues presented Dylan to the world as a rocker. Fueled by his rock and jazz forebears ( It’s from Chuck Berry, a bit of ‘Too Much Monkey Business’ and some of the scat songs of the ‘40s, Dylan told Robert Hilburn), beat poetry (that’s Allen Ginsberg holding court in the background of Dylan’s cue-card-flipping film clip of the song, essentially one of the very first.
