The Bodyguard is a 2012 stage musical written by Alexander Dinelaris, based on the 1992 film The Bodyguard, with the score featuring songs recorded by Whitney Houston including "One Moment in Time", "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" and her cover version of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You".

The Bodyguard (also known as My Beloved Bodyguard) is a 2016 Hong Kong-Chinese action drama film directed by and starring Sammo Hung in his first film as director since 1997's Once Upon a Time in China and America. Andy Lau serves as one of the film's producers while also making a special appearance. The film was released on 1 April 2016.

Few observers expected that Whitney Houston's first big-screen role in 1992's The Bodyguard would generate a phenomenon. Not that the film itself was a phenomenon - it was a healthy success, due not only to Houston, but to her co-star Kevin Costner's drawing power - but the soundtrack's success was astonishing. The Bodyguard followed Houston's cover of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" to the top of the charts, and once they got there, neither the single nor the album budged for weeks.
