Luis Ángel Cereceda Parra, known as Ángel Parra (27 June 1943 – 11 March 2017), was a Chilean singer and songwriter, son of Violeta Parra and Luis Cereceda Arenas, brother of Isabel Parra. His main civil surname was Cereceda, but he performed under his maternal surname Parra. He traveled abroad helping to maintain the Nueva Canción tradition in Chilean expatriate communities in Europe, North America, and Australia

Angel Parra (born 1943) is the son of Luis Cereceda and, the Chilean folklorist of the Nueva Canción movement. At the age of five he used to sang the repertoire of famous performers such as Leo Marini. At ten he started playing the Guitarrón (bass guitar) after meeting Chilean maestro Isaiah Angulo.

In the 1960s, Parra founded La Peña de Los Parra in Santiago alongside her son Ángel Parra, also a key figure in the movement, and this became a meeting place for musicians of the New Song. Parra’s impact on the movement is widely acknowledged. In 1981, Cuban singer Silvio Rodríguez remarked that her influence on the Latin American New Song movement cannot be understated: Violeta is fundamental. In Chile, the New Song came to actively support the presidential campaign of Salvador Allende The campaign hymn for Popular Unity, "Venceremos" ( we shall succeed ), written by Claudio Iturra and Sergio Ortega and performed by the band Inti-Illimani, contained lyrics urging the Chilean people to unite behind Allende's.
