The Rolling Stones' US Tour 1978 was a concert tour of the United States that took place during June and July 1978, immediately following the release of the group's 1978 album Some Girls. Like the 1972 and 1975 . tours, Bill Graham was the tour promoter. One opening act was Peter Tosh, who was sometimes joined by Mick Jagger for their duet "Don't Look Back".

The Rolling Stones - 1978 - Some Girls: Live in Texas.
The Rolling Stones 1978 tour of the USA in support of that year’s Some Girls album is considered by fans to be one of their very best. The tour followed immediately on the release of the Some Girls album and by the time the band arrived in Texas in mid-July the album had hit the N. spot on the US charts. The tour took a back to basics approach, with the band and their music very much at the forefront and little or no elaborate staging. Filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, on 18 July 1978, this concert is typical of the tour with the Rolling Stones delivering.
The Rolling Stones were taking off again in 1978. After the somewhat dissapointing Black And Blue, the Stones released Some Girls, their comeback album in which they explored the (by then) current state of popular music, with the d hit singles "Respectable", "Miss You" and "Beast Of Burden". With multiple hit singles scored and the reaching of Some Girls to N°1 in the US, the Stones were brought back to full form, and were more than ready to hit the roads again on their first american tour in three years
