The Black Crowes were an American rock band formed in 1989. Their discography includes eight studio albums, four live albums and several charting singles. The band was signed to Def American Recordings in 1989 by producer George Drakoulias and released its debut album, Shake Your Money Maker, the following year. The follow-up, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, reached the top of the Billboard 200 in 1992.
Charity White, who sings on the album, was with us for five years. We’ve all been circling around it. So it’s appropriate. We had talked to him but he has his radio show and his own band and he wanted to work on that. As far as former Black Crowes members you reached out to for this project, you’ve mentioned Marc, Eddie, Sven and Steve. One person obviously missing from that lineup of names is your brother, Chris.

Jealous Again", "Twice As Hard" and "Seeing Things" also charted. Brothers Chris and Rich Robinson had formed Mr. Crowe's Garden in 1984.
Steve Gorman of the Black Crowes. From: The Davemanifesto. Daveman talks with Steve Gorman about the Black Crowes latest live album and their current tour. Interview date March 22nd, 2013.
If drummer Steve Gorman is to be believed, The Black Crowes are no more. I've said in the past, 'I know we'll work again' or 'there's no way we'll work again,' and I've been wrong. But right now, the likelihood of us doing anything again is as low as it's ever been," Gorman told Rolling Stone. We could obviously all see things differently in a year, but I'll be surprised if the Black Crowes do something again. You know, 2015 is the 25th anniversary of our first album release and we're not working," Gorman said. You could certainly make a strong case that we should tour next year, but we're all doing our own projects. RS points out that lead singer Chris Robinson released Phosphorescent Harvest in April, while younger brother Rich Robinson put out his third solo project, The Ceaseless Sight, in May. Gorman is currently focused on Trigger Hippy, his Americana project with Joan Osborne.
Steve has said that a 25th anniversary tour was planned. Is that true? -Greg Sells. Now that the Black Crowes are finally done for good, it was a good time to take stock and I just wanted all my solo records under one roof and to have them all the way I wanted them. I never liked the sound of Paper, which was my first solo album. I had wanted to remix it for a long time. The flood also damaged all these tapes.

The Black Crowes delivered their second album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, in the spring of 1992, adding new lead guitarist Marc Ford and keyboardist Eddie Harsch. It entered the charts at number one, but it didn't have as many hit singles as the debut; none of the singles cracked the Top 40 and only "Remedy" and "Thorn in My Pride" made the Top 100. Nevertheless, the band established themselves as a popular concert attraction that summer, selling out theaters across America. The Black Crowes' third album, Amorica, arrived in late 1994. Drummer Steve Gorman was fired from the band, and Chris Robinson announced his intentions for a solo career. The Black Crowes have since reunited. All members circa 1992 are back, with the addition of one of their previous bassists, Sven Pipien, and harmony singers Mona Lisa Young and Charity White.
