Pack Up Your Sorrows. From the Album Fifth Album. Exclusive Prime pricing. This song, sung by Judy Collins, reaches deeply into me and resonates, giving me a place to take my sorrows. It doesn't remove them 100%, but helps me gather them and get them ready for processing. To me, it is good medicine.
Judy Collins emerged in the ‘60s as one of the finest interpretative singers in any genre. Her roots were in folk music, however, she was quick to embrace modern songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, and Eric Andersen and with her fifth album showcases their unusual melodic gifts, often obscured by the songwriters' gruffer delivery. Her impeccable choices are in full display.

Judy Collins - Pack Up Your Sorrows. F. No use crying, talking to a stranger. CG. Naming the sorrows you've seen. But if somehow you could pack up your sorrows. And give them all to me. CF. You would lose them, I know how to use them. CGC. Give them all to me.
Judy Collins' last straight, folk-based album of the 1960s, 5th Album marks her transition from a "maid of constant sorrow" to a bona fide artist. With its covers ranging from Lennon and McCartney to adaptations from The Threepenny Opera, 1966's In My Life would readily attest to this. But 5th Album, cut in late 1964, may very well be her definitive folk statement. A trio of Bob Dylan songs act as the album's centerpiece, clearly showing Collins' growth into more progressive songs
Judith Marjorie Collins (born May 1, 1939) is an American singer and songwriter known for her eclectic tastes in the material she records (which has included folk music, show tunes, pop music, rock and roll and standards) and for her social activism. Collins' debut album A Maid of Constant Sorrow was released in 1961, but it was the lead single from her 1967 album Wildflowers, "Both Sides, Now" - written by Joni Mitchell - that gave Collins international prominence
