Best Kept Secret is the fourth album by Scottish singer Sheena Easton. It was released in 1983 on EMI Records. Easton's first album to be recorded entirely in the United States, Best Kept Secret was produced by Greg Mathieson, Jay Graydon, and Trevor Veitch: Easton had planned to collaborate again with Christopher Neil, the London-based producer of her previous three albums, but it had eventuated that she and Neil had disparate ideas re her new album's material and style.

Best Kept Secret is the fourth album by Scottish singer Sheena Easton. The album marked a slight change of direction in Easton's career. Prior to this album, Easton's first three albums had all been recorded in London with producer Christopher Neil

Best Kept Secret is the fifth album by Scottish singer Sheena Easton. For Best Kept Secret, Easton dismissed Neil as her producer and hired American producers Greg Mathieson, Jay Graydon, and Trevor Veitch who had previously worked with Laura Branigan, and the album became her first recorded entirely in the United States where the singer had been more consistently popular than in her native UK (She had also cut the hit duet with Kenny. Rogers, "We've Got Tonight", in her first American recording session).

Best Kept Secret Tracklist.

Sheena Easton's "Best Kept Secret," her fourth studio effort, was released in 1983 and one of her top selling albums. Three hits came off of it - "Telephone" ( "Almost Over You" ( and "Devil in a Fast Car" (.Whereas her first three albums contained more of a classic rock/pop sound, akin to Heart or Pat Benatar, "Best Kept Secret" switched gears, aiming towards the dance-club scene. Telephone" was very much in line with the musical style of the mid-1980's. Sheena Easton's fourth album for EMI Records was released in the fall of 1983 and was a mix of timeless ballads and very '80s-sounding synth-heavy tunes. The lead-off single "Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)" was one of those synth songs and it cracked the Top 10 on Billboard. The song is not one of Sheena's best-remembered hits despite the fact she sounds very passionate on it.

LP - One Way Records. Less than three years after her debut, Easton was already on album number four. Best Kept Secret is not a remarkably consistent effort, and finds the Belshill, Scotland native trying to keep up with commercial trends more than bringing forth quality material. Indeed, there are several gems to be found here in the sparkling cover of Dusty Springfield's "Just One Smile" and the strong ballad "Almost Over Yo.
