Neil Young is the self-titled debut studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young following his departure from Buffalo Springfield in 1968, issued on Reprise Records. Some sources place the album's release date on January 22, 1969, while other sources have the release date as Young's 23rd birthday, November 12, 1968. It was then partially remixed and re-released in November 1969, but at no time has the album ever charted on the Billboard 200.

The tracks I personally like best are "Far from Home" for being a rollicking song and "It's.

Neil Young has come a long way since the 1990s, when he reigned as rock’s noisiest elder statesman. In 2005, he’s as far removed from Ragged Glory as Ragged Glory was from Tonight’s the Night, and his past ten years have been his quietest ever. For Prairie Wind, Young returns to familiar ground, the country-rock sound of Seventies discs such as Harvest and Comes a Time. It’s his simplest music in a while, but it’s effective. He spends the album saying goodbye to his friends, his family, the Canadian landscape and Elvis, in a reflective mood that suits the old-timey acoustic groove. Young cut Prairie Wind in Nashville, while commuting to New York to get treatment for a near-fatal brain aneurysm. His brush with mortality colors the new songs, as does the recent death of his father

Prairie Wind is the 26th studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released on September 27, 2005. After dalliances with 1960s soul music (Are You Passionate?) and rock opera (Greendale, which spawned a Young-directed film of the same name), Prairie Wind featured an acoustic-based sound reminiscent of his earlier commercially successful albums Harvest and Harvest Moon. The album was in part inspired by the illness and recent death of his father, Canadian sportswriter and novelist Scott Young, and the album is dedicated in part to the elder Young. A premiere live performance of Prairie Wind was held in 18–19 August 2005 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Here, Young held a two-night concert where songs from the album were performed. These concerts became the subject of a film directed by Jonathan Demme entitled Heart of Gold.

Prairie Wind is being pushed as the third in a trilogy of classic Neil Young acoustic albums, after Harvest and Harvest Moon. They do sound eerily similar. The tracks were written as Young suffered a brain aneurysm, and initially it feels as if he had simply dug out his most beautiful old songs and written new words. However, the familiarity reveals itself to be a clever ploy, as Prairie Wind contrasts simpler days with post-9/11 global panic. The songs grow darker, richer and more haunting with each listen

Let me introduce Neil Young .
