is a greatest hits album by . released in 1991, shortly after the success of the band's seventh studio album, Out of Time, released by Warner Bros. however, was released by the band's previous record label, . Records, and only includes tracks from their first five albums while the group was with that label. As such, it covers their output from 1982 to 1987.

Album from Worst to Best. Either one of those reactions makes a lot of sense this week. In either case, our reactions signify much the same thing. This was a damn fine band at the height of their global popularity back when Automatic emerged, and they were nearly as fine when they hung it up earlier this decade

began their Warner contract in 1988 as the biggest band to emerge from the American underground. Fifteen years later, they released In Time: The Best of . 1988-2003, the first overview of their long stint at Warner Records. During that decade and a half, . had a turbulent journey. At the outset, their legend and influence as one of the key - if not the key - bands of the American underground was firmly in place, but their success kept growing, culminating in a breakthrough to international stardom in 1991 thanks to "Losing My Religion" and Out.

By Henry Yates (Classic Rock) 2019-06-12T10:11:08Z Classic Rock. albums: The godfathers of US alternative rock have a back catalogue of gems – just make sure you stay clear of the monsters. released Monster, a grunge-endebted album that was sludgier, sleazier and heavier on its feet, made few concessions to fair weather fans beyond the dirty pop of What’s The Frequency, Kenneth? and the pretty Strange Currencies, and, in retrospect, offered the first hints of a decline that was only slowed by 2008's Accelerate. Genius isn’t consistent, and neither is . s back catalogue, but a record collection without the wit and wisdom of this great band, at their most beautiful, is a dismal thing indeed. These are the ones we love

Not just REM's best, one of the best songs ever written. I love the guitar solo on the version from . s Road Movie sound track. What 20TH this is a criem. 20 Try Not to Breathe. I'm amazed at how many great songs are on this list. I voted for this one because I think it's too good for 57th place. It's a beautiful song that hits me in the feels. Best song from a criminally underrated album in Around The Sun. Reminds me of the love of my life. So yes, HUGE sentimental value and an equally haunting tune. Love this melancholic song. 41 King of Birds UListen to Sample.
