Somebody said a prayer, somebody had some faith Somebody finally hit their knees and asked for help for heaven's sake Somebody finally found someone who really cares Somebody said a prayer. He was seventeen and his heart was broke The middle of the night, a bottle full of pills and a goodbye note Sittin' on his bed but then he bowed his head Now I see him every week and every now and then He talks about that night and the peace that came over him. Talk about a sign, can I get an amen? Well there were tears on his face He said look what happened lord. Somebody said a prayer, somebody.

I said to him that you hate him. I was choosing between these two options, and I can't help thinking about the subtle differences. For example, "I told him your secret" refers to something real and factual. Whereas "I said to him the moon is made of cheese" can be a lie. Is it true that when you use the word "told", people would assume it is true (a true event that happened)? And if you use the word "say", people are taking it literally as a sentence that you have said, which may or may not be true  . I would never say, 'I said to him the moon was made of cheese. It may be grammatically correct, but it's awkward. The only other difference is that 'told' has an idiom: I told you so! You would never say: "I said so to you!" You might in some cases say: "I said so!" but it doesn't carry the same tone of rebuke.

I Loves You, Porgy" is a duet from the opera Porgy and Bess with music by George Gershwin and lyrics by Ira Gershwin. It was published in 1935. Originally a duet by Anne Brown and Todd Duncan in the 1935 production and in the 1942 revival of the opera, "I Loves You, Porgy" has been recorded as a solo number by a number of popular vocalists and jazz musicians, most notably Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and Bill Evans
